Space requirements and instructions for professional assembly of your dart machine or dartboard

Two dimensions are important for mounting the dartboard: the height and the distance to the dropping line.
The height of the dartboard is measured at the center of the dartboard, the bullseye, not at the top or bottom edge of the dartboard.
Dartboard height varies for Classic Darts and E-Darts
When hanging up the dartboard, make sure that the bullseye is at an exact height.

This amounts to:
Classic Darts (Steeldarts) height Bullseye: 1.73 meters
E-Darts (Softdarts) height Bullseye: 1.72 meters
So for sketching the dimensions, the distance from the upper and lower edge of the dartboard must be subtracted.

Most manufacturers already supply a suitable drilling template with their dartboard.
If your dartboard is delivered without a drilling template, you can easily create a suitable template for mounting the dartboard yourself with the help of some paper and a pencil.
Take a sheet of paper in DIN-A3 format and put the dartboard with the front (the playing field) flat on the ground and the sheet of paper on it.
On the back of the dartboard there are the drill holes, the position of these is now transferred to the paper with the pencil.
With large dimensions and drill holes far from the edges of the dartboard, it may be useful to first glue two sheets of DIN-A3 paper together and then work with the larger area for the drilling template.
After the drill holes are transferred to the paper template, take a ruler and connect the two points horizontally and vertically.
The result is a cross with the Bulls in the middle.
With irregularly shaped dartboards, however, the bulls can also be slightly higher or lower on the line, check and if necessary correct the position on the paper again.

When installing the dartboard also pay attention to the distance
Before you now transfer the drill holes to the wall using the template and start drilling the holes, you should also measure the distance to the drop line again.
Traditionally, the distance to the dartboard is measured from the center of the board (bullseye) to the throw-off line on the diagonal.

These are:
Classic Darts (Steeldarts) diagonal distance: 2,93 meters
E-Darts (Softdarts) diagonal distance: 2.98 meters
Special chains with the standardized spacing dimensions are available from specialist dealers.
However, this accessory can be omitted for the installation of the dartboard.

If you do not want to calculate according to the theorem of Pythagoras, you will find the correct measurements for the distance below:
Classic Darts (Steeldarts) minimum throwing distance: 2,37 meters
E-Darts (Softdarts) minimum throwing distance: 2,44 meters
Before you now transfer the height of the dartboard to the wall and start drilling, there are some last measurements to check.

Minimum distances to the side and back
So that the players can move freely, further minimum distances must be taken into account when attaching the dartboard.
The lateral distance from the bullseye to the wall should be at least 90 centimeters.
At least 1.50 meters must be kept free behind the dropping line.
If several dartboards are to be hung in one room, the lateral distance between two boards (each measured from bullseye to bullseye) is 1.80 meters.
